Starting in 1197, with the creation of the Order of the Holy Trinity for the Liberation of Captives, by the pious French priest, João da Mata and his companion, Felix de Valois, the book tells the story of devotion to Our Lady of Remedies and its strong connection. with the ideal of captive release. The book follows the path of the Order of the Holy Trinity from France to Portugal and then to Brazil, always focused on the practice of mercy and the rescue of captives, first among Moors and Christians, later indigenous and enslaved Africans. It reports the action of the abolitionists in Sao Paulo under the invocation of Our Lady of Remedies and the Trinitarian ideals. Based on research conducted in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, France and the Vatican Secret Archive.

It has some communications given in it, as well as three texts by Brazilians participants in the 1916 Congress, Eduardo Carlos Pereira, Alvaro Reis and Erasmo Braga, two of them first published in Portuguese.

I sign with the theologian Danilo da Silva Cunha the chapter "Snowball: a contemporary Pentecostal phenomenon", an anthropological analysis of a church of this denomination in the city of São Paulo.
